Pastoral Care:
St. Aidan's ministers to its congregation in a variety of ways. The Pastoral Care Team is available to minister to people in need of confidential visitation, conversation and prayer. The team meets monthly to support each other and share pastoral needs. The Daughters of the King pledge themselves to a life-long program of prayer, service and evangelism, dedicated to spreading the Word about Christ's Kingdom, and strengthening the spiritual life of their parish. They too meet monthly. Prayer blankets are made by parishioners and given to newborn babies. The food network provides meals for St. Aidan's families in times of need.
Service:
Service Opportunities are offered throughout the year to the congregation, including:
- Baking cookies for Kairos (prison ministry)
- Serving breakfast at Lord of the Streets
- Donating school supplies to CAM
- Planting trees from the Arbor Day Foundation
- Habitat for Humanity
- Christmas Gift boxes for the Houston Seafarer's Center
- Donating gently used clothes and toys to Mission Yahweh
Several service opportunities are available year round as well:
- Donating non-perishable food donations to CAM
- Searching the internet with GoodSearch while designating St. Aidan's (Cypress) as your charitable choice. Funds raised will then go to Episcopal Relief and Development.
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
Matthew 25:35-36
